A CV for a job outside IT

An employer looks at a CV for a few seconds. In that time they must see the job title, your experience and that you can do exactly what they need.

What goes first

Experience: numbers instead of duties

Instead of "responsible for sales", write "handled 40 clients, hit 118% of plan". Instead of "worked in a warehouse", write "picked up to 150 orders a shift". Numbers show the scale and stick in the mind.

List each job separately: company, years, title, two or three points with results. Experience from over ten years ago can shrink to one line.

Skills employers look for

Use the same words as the job posts: employers and job sites search CVs by them.

What to leave out

A check and a builder

Paste your CV and a job post into the free CV check: it shows which skills from the post are missing. The AutoApply CV builder makes a one-page CV in 10 minutes, with AI help and a PDF that Work.ua and Robota.ua can read.

FAQ

Do I need a CV for a manual job?

It helps: even a half-page CV with the title, years of experience and licences gets opened more often than an application without one.

How many CVs should I make?

One for each kind of job if you look for different work, for example "Storekeeper" and "Forklift driver".
